Using Fiction to Sell Coming Reality

Have you read the Left Behind series? If not, I’m sure you are familiar with it. Tim LaHaye utilizes biblical prophetic understanding and progression while Jerry B. Jenkins lays fictional characters and a storyline over the top.

Have you read or heard of Joel Rosenberg? He does the same thing. Biblical prophetic infrastructure covered with a fictional storyline to bring it to life.

Why not the conventional way of just writing the prophetic study book?

Fiction adds excitement…

And most importantly, these theories, though based on scripture would not be easily believed.

Let me give you an example.

Let’s say the above named Authors did not write fiction, but instead wrote and spoke like Isaiah and Jeremiah about terrorists and the rapture.

They would be written off as lunatics. No publication, no interviews, etc.

I’m not sure who started this. I do remember C.S. Lewis coining the word “supposal”. It is a fantastic way to open up someone’s mind who would normally be closed minded to a subject. I believe that C.S. Lewis utilized this strategy with many of his writings.

Think of the strategy. Fiction is more exciting and it conveys your idea or “supposal”. Then if you are right, you are a genius. If you are wrong, or not exactly right then its fiction – Brilliant!

To be clear, I am behind each of these Authors. I have some varying thoughts and ideas, but I think they are doing some good things to get awareness about prophetic ideology.

Okay, now let me switch gears…

If this works for the “good guys”, guess what? It works for the “dark side” as well.

Satan and secular humanism are no fools. What works of fiction are coming out so that minds can be “sold” on what is coming up?

Here are some examples:

Fictional family lifestyles that Satan/Secular humanism would like to have society take on

New Age ideologies

Putting Aliens in a good light (which are really demons and also I believe that these storylines will be used to cover up the Rapture)

Various political agendas

I’ll leave the rest for you to ponder on.

It really leaves us at the same place. There is still only two sides, God and Satan, Truth and deception.
