Rosh Hashanah, the mikvey bath & Joseph

Rosh Hashanah, the mikveh bath and Joseph

Joseph is one of the great models of the rapture in Genesis

In the Old Testament visions, dreams and interpretations are representative of watching for the rapture, end times and interpreting the seasons Jesus told us to watch for.

Another great example is Daniel. Daniel interpreted the dream of King Nebuchadnezzar, and then was in the king’s gate (firstfruits rapture) while Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were saved by Jesus through the trials of tribulation in the face of the image of antichrist.

Joseph interprets the cupbearer, the breadmaker and has to wait and be patient for another two years (2,000 years the church has been waiting). Then the day comes and Joseph is called to interpret Pharaoh’s dream.

Genesis 40 (link below)

Here is where I believe the story and rapture archetype of Joseph ties in with Rosh Hashanah…On the day before Rosh Hashanah the men would prepare by taking a mikveh bath & change their clothing (white)…

Genesis 41:14

14Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh

Joseph’s mikveh bath??? I think so.

Then Pharoah says to Joseph:

38Then Pharaoh said to his servants, "Can we find a man like this, (AB)in whom is a divine spirit?"
39So Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Since God has informed you of all this, there is no one so (AC)discerning and wise as you are.
Prophecy & Rapture/end times watching relating to the interpretation of vision in the old testament

40"(AD)You shall be over my house, and according to your command all my people shall do homage; only in the throne I will be greater than you."
41Pharaoh said to Joseph, "See, I have set you (AE)over all the land of Egypt."
42Then Pharaoh (AF)took off his signet ring from his hand and put it on Joseph's hand, and clothed him in garments of fine linen and (AG)put the gold necklace around his neck.
43He had him ride in his second chariot; and they proclaimed before him, "Bow the knee!" And he set him over all the land of Egypt.
44Moreover, Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Though I am Pharaoh, yet (AH)without your permission no one shall raise his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt."
45Then Pharaoh named Joseph [a]Zaphenath-paneah; and he gave him Asenath, the daughter of Potiphera priest of (AI)On, as his wife. And Joseph went forth over the land of Egypt

The marriage (rapture) and see below the verse in Psalms regarding Joseph, this happening and the timing which I am speculating by the clues given in God’s word that this was an early enactment of Rosh Hashanah

Psalm 81:3-5 (New American Standard Bible)
3Blow the trumpet at the (A)new moon, At the full moon, on our (B)feast day. 4For it is a statute for Israel, An ordinance of the God of Jacob. 5He established it for a testimony in Joseph When he (C)went throughout the land of Egypt I heard a (D)language that I did not know:

It has these elements:

Mikveh
The trumpet
the marriage
gentile bride
new moon
feast day

Now I can’t completely answer why the verse in Psalms says new moon along with full moon. Rosh Hashanah is the only feast on the new moon except that each month is Rosh Chodesh, head of the month. My explanation as to why it mentions the new moon and the full moon is that there are multiple raptures. I’m open to anyone else with further insight into this aspect. But with the mention of the new moon and all the other clues listed above I feel it’s a powerful model – too good to ignore and joyful to look at this close to a coming Rosh Hashanah that holds a lot of promise.

Blessings,

Tony
